Planner Job Objectives

• Conduct ongoing analysis of the performance of your merchandise in the relevant area through analyzing the performance of the present against the budgeted value, which includes margin, sales, and other metrics for stock, such as stock turn and sales to stock ratio.
• Analyze under and overperformance to find the root of the issue and, thereby, identify opportunities to either extend the over time or fix the underperformance.
• Create a budget for merchandise for the year-end financial year, and get approval for the budgeted values proposed.
• Collaborate with the Senior Buyers, Buyers, and Replenishment staff to create an assortment plan that is balanced at the store level.
• Review and monitor clustering in stores on a regular basis through studies of turnover and demographics to make sure that stores are properly clustered.
• Review and monitor the cluster’s ranging regularly to ensure that there are an appropriate range of products at the store level.
• Control the execution of the budget that was approved for the fiscal year in the specific area of responsibility.
• Conduct ongoing analysis throughout the year to determine issues that are not in line and recommend corrective action.
• Manage the life cycle of items and work closely with Buyers to manage the removal and disposal of “end of range” items.
• Analyze post promotional and event information to identify any missed or lost opportunities and to improve the future forecasts for promotional opportunities.
• Engage on a regular basis in conjunction with Store as well as the DC Replenishment team to ensure the latest accepted Merchandise Strategy is followed across every step of supply chain.
• Assist and assist with internal projects and assignments according to the business’s needs and demands. require.

Planner Qualifications

Essential

• A Business degree or Certificate in Economics Supply Chain or another related field

Planner Experience

Essential 

• Three years’ experience in the Merchandise Planner job with demonstrable experience and knowledge managing a significant planning portfolio in a large retail company

Desirable 

• SAP Retail / Buying experience 
• Arthur / Enterprise Planning experience 

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

• A deep understanding and application of forecasting, statistical modeling forecasts for sales replenishment and planning of merchandise methods and principles.
• Expertise and knowledge of supply chain, purchasing and the retail operations process.
• A thorough understanding of the economic trend and the impact they have upon consumer expenditure.
• Proficient of Microsoft Office 365 with an advanced level of Excel ability.
