Lecturer Job description

CORE FUNCTIONS

Provide guidance and support to an Academic Program Director in regards to a particular academic program. This job entails a wide range of duties that aim to ensure the academic and student success of the program. excellence in the program and also supporting the school’s overall initiatives that promote the development of the institution and students. In addition, the position is a requirement for assisting in the administration of a program that includes the following facets of leadership and management for programs Program Planning and Administration Admission and Delivery of the Program Engagement of Stakeholders, Development as well as Recognition Programme Governance Program Cycle Reviews and Program Improvement.

CORE FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

• Programme Leadership and Management (within the limits of the MANCOSA vision, mission and strategy)
• Coordinate the development and continual improvement of the programme teaching and learning as well as the assessment strategy for the programme. an assessment process that is monitored, using the administration of a tracker to the program.
• To aid in the measurement of the graduate’s attributes by coordination of interaction between the APL and the students in the program
• To help with studies on ways to enhance the school’s program offerings and school’s strategy (programme expansion, articulation, etc.)
• Programme Planning and Administration in conjunction with Institutional Planning
• To communicate with academic administrators as it relates to academic readiness each semester.
• To design and manage academic administrators’ progress trackers
• Helping the Academic Program Manager (APL) in recruiting and the appointment of academic deliverables
• Facilitation of webcasts
• Assessment development / Marking
• Stakeholder Engagement, Development and Recognition
• To coordinate the appropriate community Engagement initiatives and actions
• To assist in the planning and coordination academic events for both academic staff and students.
• Student Engagement and Success in Programme
• To help align pupils with Programme specifically designed career advice and in collaboration with the Career Centre
• Programme Intelligence to engage with key stakeholders to obtain information about Student assessment performance.
• To support the APL with benchmarking of programmes and the creation of new programs within the school.
• Programme Governance (Monitoring, Evaluation and Risk Management)
• To aid in APL detection and intervention of students who are at risk
• Programme Cyclical Review – Programme Quality Monitoring)
• To aid in reviewing and updating the content of modules.
• To assist in the coordination of reports and data which will oversee all external and internal quality assurance efforts

Lecturer Minimum Requirements

QUALIFICATION

• A must: Masters degree with a focus on international commerce (NQF level 9)

ESSENTIAL

• Minimum 2 years of experience in higher education/ Academic
