The principal purpose of this position is to assist with all tax-related operational issues for the companies that are that are registered in the countries in the South-East Africa business unit (BU). This role is responsible for assisting the Tax Manager (BU) in all tax matters. BU Tax Manager is accountable for supporting with the tax manager (Rest of Africa) with the coordination and management of all tax-related issues related to the entities of the ABInBev Group registered in Mozambique, Zambia, Botswana, Ghana, Tanzania and Uganda.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

To control the tax risk and value of companies in the Southeast BU through the provision of expert tax advice and support for making decisions.

As an advisor to business owners, to help identify tax issues or opportunities that could have a an impact on the financial strategy of the company or could affect the Group’s license to trade, providing comments and recommendations for optimizing the tax position of local companies.

To find opportunities to shape tax policy and legislation in a way that is beneficial to taxpayers of the AB InBev Group and the tax authorities.

Assist in tax budgeting process and to monitor the performance against the budget. Making sure that the accuracy and timely report of the corporate income tax to be included in the financial reporting process.

In order to ensure timely submission and timely tax return filing.

To implement tax strategies and tax auditing strategy that are aligned with Group policies, and ensuring the compliance of local requirements and focusing on efficiency improvement.

To manage the relations between local tax auditors as well as tax authorities.

Manage tax staff assigned for the Southeast BU which includes tax managers in the country.

Tax generally includes corporation income tax (which includes transfer pricing) and excise tax. the value added tax (VAT), customs duty, and the indirect taxes that are associated with it.

Minimum requirements:

• Tax graduate postgraduate qualification
• A minimum of 7 years experience in taxation, the majority of which must be post-qualification.
• Experience in working within a multinational company or in an Large 4 Accounting Firm
• Experience and knowledge of African taxation.
• Experience with tax audits for all tax brackets.
• Experience and knowledge of issues relating to transfer pricing.
• Understanding of taxes, tax deferral, etc.
• Involvement in tax control and risk management.
• Ability to work remotely with a team that is spread across BU South East Africa
• Great interpersonal abilities and the capacity to establish strong connections with both external and internal stakeholders
• Team-player
• Experience with interaction with senior Executives.
• Management of projects.
• Utilization of Excel Powerpoint, Excel, Word and various other common programs to meet the highest standards.
• Ability to travel to Africa.
