Job Description
The Risk Manager plays a key role in developing and implementing risk management strategies across the VKB Group. This role ensures the identification, assessment, and mitigation of financial and operational risks, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance and the cultivation of a risk-aware culture within the organization.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Risk Management or Law or a field related to it
- Qualifications relevant to the field of risk management or in related disciplines
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing financial risks across various sectors (agriculture, corporate, insurance finance, insurance)
- At least three years of experience in a management or leadership position
- Experientially-trained in governance, compliance and risk management frameworks
- Proficient in Afrikaans as well as English
- Valid Driver’s License
- Willingness to travel
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Create and implement a the group’s strategies for risk management and mitigation.
- Assess and monitor the risk exposure of every department
- Check for compliance with rules of governance and regulation
- Develop and embed a culture of risk-awareness throughout the organization
- Give guidance and support to the executive management in questions relating to risk.
- Create complete reports for management as well as Board committee
