Purpose of the position:

The Finance Manager is responsible for all aspects of financial management including audit and compliance, reporting on stakeholder management, as well as staff management. The role focuses on Centres for Disease Control (CDC) projects within the organization.

Minimum Requirements

• CA (SA) with at minimum three years of experience in accounting, finance budgeting, management and finance; or an equivalent mixture of educational qualifications with previous experience
• Minimum 2 years of post writing knowledge
• Experience with financial accounting systems (e.g. SAP)
• The auditing experience of PEPFAR is a huge benefit
• Ability to use and develop financial modeling tools in Microsoft Excel (advanced)
• Report writing
• Clean credit and no criminal record
• Communication skills with others in English
• Valid driver’s license with code 08

Duties and Responsibilities

Accounting and financial management

• Manage and supervise the project bookkeeping, including journal processing and cashbook processing.
• Assist in the preparation of bank reviews and reconciliations.
• Oversee and ensure compliance with the project’s debit cards, employees creditors and expense claims
• Check that all deadlines for funding and statutory are made
• Support financial management to program directors.
• Help departments with financial-related tasks.
• Review and authorize electronic payment and transfers
• Make sure that the register is complete and accurate. the fixed asset register.
• The financial responsibility is a totality of the management/trial balance allotted

The auditing process and the compliance

• Be sure to keep accurate records of VAT
• All responsibility for the creation and implementation of all audits related to the fund (internal and externe)
• Assists in the preparation and execution of Audits that are required by law

Control of Cash Flow

• Make sure you have a proper cash flow management
• Make sure that loan accounts and inter-account transfers are made

Budgeting and reporting

• Check that all monthly expense claims and financial statements are prepared and sent to funders on time
• Give an understanding to senior management, board members and other external parties by reviewing the financial statements for projects
• Make sure that all reports in line with the financial system.

Stakeholder management

• Keep and strengthen connections with both internal and external stakeholders

People management

• Make sure that high-level plans are shared and distributed to the team
• Participate in the performance review process.
