Job Purpose
Cleaning and clean-up, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and replenishing consumables in the areas and buildings. Cleaning of areas assigned within the work zone designated and ensure that the areas are tidy and clean across the entire University.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Grade 10 (standard 8) qualification
- A certificate in Hygiene/Cleaning / Housekeeping
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the cleaning field
- Knowledge and experience in the handling of cleaning products and chemicals
- Knowledge and experience in operating relevant cleaning equipment and machinery
- The candidate must be physically fit (Be able to climb ladders, clean floors and operate machinery)
- Matric/Grade 12 qualification
Key Performance Areas
- Cleaning all buildings and facilities as instructed by Supervisor including Deep cleaning, stripping and sealing of buildings
- Replenish all consumables on a daily bases as scheduled or as needed depending on the demand
- Report all maintenance issues to supervisor on a daily basis
- Assist in all areas of work where needed
- Ensure Health & Safety standards are adhered to at all times
- Maintenance of Cleaning Equipment
- Assist in ad-hoc duties
