Brief Description

The principal function of this job is to manage programs inside the Prudential Authority (PA) and make sure that projects are completed in accordance with the specifications in line with budget and within time.

Candidates who are successful will be accountable for the following areas of performance:

  • Prioritize projects and new requests with the relevant business stakeholders to ensure an effective alignment of resources and optimal allocation.
  • Facilitate the creation of business case and project inception documents in line with Programme Management Office (PMO) procedure to define and accept the business purpose and motivation.
  • Choose project managers, and discuss and agree on the assignment of team members to ensure efficient use of the project’s skills.
  • Supervise the output of project managers to ensure conformity to the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) methodology and program when the project is delivered according to the approved timetable, budget specifications and the quality requirements.
  • Complete the line-management function regarding the performance and development of administrators and project managers inside the organization.
  • Mentor and coach project managers and administrators in the team, offering the leadership and motivation.
  • Hold required meetings with the programme to consolidate reports, manage challenges and risks, guaranteeing consistency, cohesion and the integrity of output.
  • Control specific projects when needed in line with the workload or the tasks required or as.
  • Engage and communicate with high-level stakeholders in and within the PA as well as the SARB at various points of the various lifecycles of the project.
  • Control the distribution of benefits from the project and oversee reviews after implementation to ensure the viability of solutions to projects.

Qualifications

  • A postgraduate qualification (NQF 8.8) or a higher level of postgraduate education (NQF 8) in Business Management, Project Management or any other related field;
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in Projects, Programming and Business Management.

The principal goal for the South African Reserve Bank is to ensure the security of the currency, in the interests of sustainable and balanced economic development within the Republic.
