Job Summary
The Director of Schemes Reporting plays a crucial role in supporting The Everyday Banking cluster in the financial reporting of costs for schemes. They will be able to provide complete reports on business and financial and the analytical support for schemes’ finance to different department within clusters. The position will play a key role in providing commercial insight as well as financial reports, analysis of fees, as well as assistance with projects for the business, with particular focus on fee analysis of the scheme in the Schemes.
Job Description
Financial Reporting:
- Make financial reports for the scheme and supervise the month-end process with the team, making sure that there is that the financials are accurate when reported to the business.
- Provide Schemes with data analytics, insights, and commercialization of Scheme contracts to increase costs as well as operational efficiency.
- Develop strategies to reduce costs and manage your business.
- Provide monthly reports, ensuring the accuracy, completeness and relevancy of the data in order to help the Group Finance Management Team to make well-informed decisions.
- oversee the preparation, signing off, and ratify the short-term plans (STP) and medium-term plan (MTP) and the rolling forecast (RAF) and budgets with relevant stakeholders in order to facilitate consolidation into Finance forecasts and budgets.
- Collaborate with the team to consolidate the financial plans created through MTP, STP and RAF and then sense-check the consolidations prior to approving by the heads of Finance clusters.
- Monthly risk reports based on the forecasts of the scheme created.
- Interchange Reporting and Analyzing: Prepare monthly interchange reports and analysis that is categorized according to the type of product, international vs. domestic, and identify business opportunities.
- Optimization and management of scheme contracts, in order to ensure maximum benefit is gained from the contracts currently in the scheme.
Help with Advisory:
- Give advice and assistance to the management team on potential financial risks that could have a negative impact on profit through regular discussions on any financial-related issues.
- Project Support Help with financial analysis of Schemes assistance for business ventures that are new.
- Provide insight into the scheme and provide help with pricing strategies in the company.
The Financial Control and the Compliance
- The scheme must be approved by the signatories. quarterly report to be prepared by the relevant personnel according to the format that is prescribed.
- Maintain proper internal controls consistent to Absa Group policy. This is done by regularly reviewing every variance report and any other reports if applicable.
- Communicate directly with your Internal and External Audit team and provide all the information needed in order to make sure that the company is compliant with applicable regulations and policies in presenting the financial condition of the company.
Stakeholder Management
- Inform about financial guidelines, policies, procedures along with guidelines and policies to the Business Manager in charge and to the Group Finance Management Team.
- Help support projects by preparing the financial part of the business plan that is developed by management in order to constantly monitor and alter the cost and benefits of the projects.
- Offer strong support for the operational team through regular meetings where you can share the financial performance.
Executive Administration
- Develop the most important topics, presentations and reviews for the Finance Stakeholders in charge of Senior Finance and provide detailed content as needed.
