We’re in search of skilled electricians. technicians to support Electrical and Project Engineers by conducting diverse electrical projects Maintenance tasks as well as technical investigation and managing tasks.

Sappi Vacancies Responsibilities:

• Make sure that equipment is up and running, calibrating and optimization of all electronic, electrical instruments, and other equipment that is used for the purposes of Sappi like PLCs, AC as well as DC drives DCS protection equipment and measuring apparatus, equipment for communication UPSs, controllers, SLCs batteries chargers, and all other equipment which uses controls, switches or electricity to accomplish one or other function. For every piece of equipment that the Technician handles both software and hard-based.
• Assist in solving daily plant issues that have a level of complexity that goes beyond the expertise of Foremen and Artists to reduce downtime for plants through making choices, employing specific techniques, with the help of specially designed measuring equipment.
• Repair and fault finding on devices up to card level, based on availability of spares for the equipment.
• Inform the direct supervisor and master technician, look into possible causes, study every possible solution and make the most appropriate solution. Also, provide suggestions for the most efficient and cost-effective solutions to avoid repeat incidences.
• Implement improvements and preventative measures using the assistance of maintenance personnel or contractors based upon the type of job.
• Make sure that you are in conformity to the specifications, standards and engineering procedures for work performed by examining and completing modifications to the plant.
• Assures that documentation is accurate conforming to Ngodwana Management of Change procedure.
• Get information and expertise from suppliers of equipment that is used in a project. Information gained should be passed on to Technicians in the same department and Section/Discipline Engineers Artisans and Foremen by making manuals. Double-check the manuals that are set by junior technicians and Technicians.
• Offer on-the job training to artisans and Foremen.
• Find ways to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of equipment, through being up-to-date with technological advances through technical updates from suppliers, taking part in seminars, demonstrations and presentations offered by contractors.
• The Master Technician should be consulted about these new techniques and techniques.
• Research, and then compile details of the work and cost calculations. Monitor installations, collect and then follow-up on punch lists, and make sure to maintain the proper documentation.
• Making a compilation of calibration, fault-finding and optimization procedures for equipment that will be used by maintenance staff and Technicians in other capacities.
• Find out the requirements for training needed for the daily tasks carried out by Foremen and Artisans.
• Find out the measuring and fault-finding equipment requirements, and make sure that Artisans are equipped to use these equipment effectively.
• Send weekly and monthly reports regarding section activities to The Electrical Engineer.
