Job description
The role for the product manager VAS is to collaborate with the business in establishing the business requirements and specifications for each product in the portfolio. The person in charge is responsible of directing the relevant product roadmap, and also leads an all-functional team that implements an ongoing improvement of the product for customers who are either internal or external. The job is a central point of integration to Tech Services, business leadership and oversees vendor management, all while providing a seamless, seamless digital experience for customers.
Key Performance Areas
- Responsible for the product vision as well as the strategy and roadmap within the product domain in support of the business goals
- Completely manages the lifecycle of a product from conception to launch, in close collaboration with the relevant stakeholders
- Keeps an in-depth understanding of VAS systems and the customer’s journey (including expectations and issues) and the best practices in the industry and utilizes these insights to develop an improvement plan for the product.
- Create a roadmap that will allow for the scale to VAS. VAS operations across the entire channel, and even catgeories.
- Analyzes various options for technology as well as APIs and capabilities to develop integration plans in the context of business needs
- Document management is ensured for all new product configuration, development and Process Changes
- As a expert in the developer/technical community as well as business
- Follows trends that are emerging both in terms of technology and functional to ensure that products remain relevant and in line with the requirements of business
- This ensures that the product is improved from beginning to end process that provides rapid and well-coordinated changes
- Make sure that the product meets legal, risk, and the governance requirements
- Provides recommendations for appropriate processes to improve data accessibility and to ensure accuracy of information and integrity of data
- Document management is ensured for all product design, development, and process modifications
- Make sure that issues are tested from beginning to end and reports status to the key users
- Participates in CX Helpdesk. CX Helpdesk to monitor any issues and offer second level support to assist in resolving issues
- Manages a cross-functional product team (including vendors developers) ensures clear roles and collaboration within an agile working environment.
- Works with the demand-to-deploy team to ensure that the solution is effective in deployment across the user community
- Offers the team with feedback about the progress and performance of team members on a regular basis, creating a learning environment that is continuous and efficient teamwork
Minimum requirements
- The Bachelor’s degree is from a university in Computer Science; IS or similar technology discipline
- Acquiring the appropriate IT Specialist Certification is an benefit
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an environment of product management in technology with the experience of an executive in charge of product management
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in an IT/Tech Services technical role
- Experience in managing directly third-party developers to design and maintain related applications
- Experience with VAS platforms and associated integrations e.g. to third party providers like betting providers, airtime providers, etc.
- Experience in working with and coordinating business owners and stakeholders from multiple businesses in a retail context
- Experience in an FMCG or retail environment is preferable.
- Experience working in a dynamic and agile environment is desirable.
