Job Description

We are seeking a highly-motivated and organized Legal Assistant who is a graduate. This is a great opportunity for students just finishing their law studies to gain real-world experience in a highly-competitive, fast-paced work environment. Candidates who are successful will assist with legal activities across a variety of areas, such as legal, litigation, contracts as well as corporate management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft or review and proofread legal documents like contracts, NDAs, or correspondence
  • Perform legal analysis and create memos or summaries of relevant laws, case law and regulatory changes
  • Assist with the management of legal documents and case management systems and ensuring that accurate records are maintained.
  • Help the legal team with creating documents for court filings, hearings and internal investigation
  • Contact internal departments and outside counsel for coordination of legal issues
  • Follow up on legal responsibilities to ensure prompt completion
  • Be confidential and observe the regulations and compliance standards.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the legal education or internal briefings

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in law (LLB or equivalent) from an accredited university
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities
  • Excellent analytical and research capabilities
  • Attention to the smallest detail and an extremely high level of precision
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office; experience with legal management systems is an advantage
  • An intense desire to pursue the legal profession, with the intention of obtaining a qualification as a solicitor, or a legal executive
