Job Purpose

Manage and deliver medium-sized projects within agreed scope, budget, and time. Projects can be related to any discipline, e.g. Property, engineering, and information technology are all disciplines that can be included in a project, depending on the strategy of the company. The Project Manager is responsible for mentoring and coaching junior staff on agile best practices. The Project Manager ensures that the team is working at the right time on the right tasks, by working closely with product managers to translate epics and stories into tasks for the delivery teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Agile software project implementation with better quality, in line with the business goals and needs.
  • Weekly facilitation sessions to provide expert level guidance on communication, team dynamics, team integration, communication, systems, tools and methods, as well as process, tools, and system.
  • Engage and facilitate multiple diverse groups on a range of needs and wants.

  • Create professional relationships through engagement, regular communication and feedback to all stakeholders using project status reports and quality metrics as drivers
  • Cost estimation should be accurate based on client requirements, project scope and coverage.
  • Project budgets within the scope of a project should be managed.
  • Delivering projects within budget, scope and deadlines
  • Assure the traceability of benefits defined throughout the lifecycle of a project and escalate deviations
  • Manage scope, including client requirements and estimations.
  • Deliver project according to agreed schedule
  • Meeting requirements is achieved by providing clients with advice on the best Project management approach. Identify project stakeholders, define their level of involvement in the project, and communicate their roles. Map their communication needs, and manage stakeholder engagement through the project plan.
  • Manage each stakeholder actively throughout the change cycle
  • Change management plan: Assess the impact of business changes on processes, systems and roles
  • Identify and manage the stakeholders through a clear understanding of their behaviour and operations, and the inclusion of strategies into the project schedule.
  • Inform clients and management
  • Assist the client in the management of the change process.
  • Make sure that client needs are accurately reflected in the scope of work and that all stakeholders have signed off on it.
  • Ensure satisfactory post implementation review and performing retrospectives/inspect & adapt sessions as required
  • Make sure that client needs are accurately captured and approved by all stakeholders.
  • Allocating sufficient resources
  • Manage medium-sized projects using the Project Management methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Matriculation / Grade 12/ National Senior Certificate
  • Professional Qualifications/Honor’s Degree NQF level 7 qualification or Honors degree in Project Management or Business management.
  • Experience in project management of 5 years, with at least 4 years as a PM.
  • Certification in PM practices or methodologies (PRINCE/PMBOK ETC).
