Description For IT Services Support Specialist

Amazon’s IT Services Support is the primary point of contact for technical support service inquiries. Our IT Support Technicians spend their day answering support chats, phone calls and online requests on behalf Amazon employees around the world.
Candidates who pass the test will be asked to work on the basis of a rotating schedule.

The most successful IT Support Technician must be a customer-focused professional who is inspired by the team’s success. You must be creative active, enthusiastic and adaptable to the latest processes and procedures quickly when dealing with an overwhelming amount of requests. You must also be committed and flexible. You possess the capability to keep the highest levels of productivity and provide high-quality service. This position is remote in nature, and may change based on the business needs. You are required to attend meetings in at the Cape Town office.

Key job responsibilities

  • Provides a full technical support for Amazon Corporate employees worldwide.• Research, solve queries, and reply to questions through web chat and phone calls, as well as email or ticketing system promptly according to Amazon’s standards for team members.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with computing for the end user, including analysing the issue, identifying of the appropriate resources and testing proposed solutions and follow-up to make sure the issue has been solved.
  • Creates and submits thorough call logs that document the customer’s interactions. These logs are precise comprehensive, timely, and thorough.
  • Informs the customer about needed repairs and responds to simple questions. The customer must be informed and is pleased with work done.
  • adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) by making effective utilization of Knowledge management.
  • Manage a case count between 15 and 25 tickets.
  • Manage a concurrent support conversation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of support policies so that you can offer technically accurate answers to the users.
  • Assists in the activities needed to determine and raise any system or network outage, in order to decrease the amount of downtime.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in supporting Windows, Mac and/or Linux operating systems in a business environment. Experience with troubleshooting interdependent and integrated computer systems
  • Experience in troubleshooting network issues and assistance
  • Experience in maintaining zebra thermal printers and troubleshooting thin clients scanners, PCs, and handheld handheld terminals
  • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco/CCNA, Linux (Redhat), Microsoft hardware (installation), AWS, or other industry relevant certifications
  • Experience in a dynamic environment with a high degree of customer service
