Job Description
- Conduct and attend Safety meetings
- Conducts and is a participant in Risk assessment
- Delegate the tasks to subordinates
- Respond to breakdowns and emergencies in the event of an emergency
- Ensure that the material, spares and equipment are readily available in the event of a need
- Assure that adequate and proper on-the-job instruction and training is provided to subordinates
- Make a decision based on your judgment regarding the replacement of components
- Document the results of all legal tests in the correct format
- Work in a manner that prioritizes work needs
- Job cards that are complete and a descriptions of the work performed and spares that are used (PM’s)
- Perform work according to the specified standards and specifications.
- Use the appropriate tools to complete the tasks
- Find conflict scenarios that could be a possibility and limit the potential consequences of conflict
- Make sure that subordinates are aware of expectations for work and strategies
- The conduct of the job induction
- Participate, coach and support in the development and training of apprentices and subordinates
- Two-way communication that is open and clear with line supervisors and subordinates.
- Report at-risk incident, behavior and injuries
- Engage with departments in other departments.
- Inform about any anomalies or defects to the the appropriate supervisor or manager
- Employers should recommend employees who are suitable for the next stage of their career.
Qualifications
- Grade 12/ Technical Trade Specific N3
- Electrical Trade Test
- Medium Voltage Certification (essential)
- Winder Competent (essential)
- 3 years’ experience within the mining environment
- Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office
- Code 8 driver’s license
