We’re in search of an knowledgeable Artist Assistantto efficiently complete less complicated maintenance tasks as well as assist Artists with the more difficult maintenance tasks, and thus contribute to the overall efficiency of the equipment
As an Artisan Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Conduct maintenance, repairs and overhaul of equipment related to the service workshop.
- Receive a license to be an “authorised workman” as per Sappi lock out procedures and help production personnel to complete the isolation procedures when required.
- Follow the laws to ensure safe handling the waste, including identifying, sorting, and disposal of waste into proper waste streams.
- The correct selection and application of tools to complete the task and the maintenance.
- Get licences for different mobile equipment, which can be found at Ngodwana Mill.
- Assist artists with breakdowns and maintenance of opportunities and complete tasks according to their level of competency.
- Transport and move equipment at work according to the requirements.
- Create a safe work environment by implementing security and housekeeping procedures.
- Check that the provision is compliant completely with the applicable statutory requirements.
What are we looking for?
- The 12th grade is a Mathematics and Science as well as an Engineering N3 Science NQF L4 certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Experience with maintenance and repair could be beneficial.
