Generic Requirements
- Candidates must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the specific core tasks of the job;

- The Criminal Law (Forensic Procedures) Amendment Act, Act 37 of 2013, requires that all new employees in the South African Police Service as after 31 January 2015 must provide the buccal (inside cheek) sample to establish their DNA forensic profile. The DNA profile for forensics obtained by the test will then be uploaded into the Elimination Index of the National Forensic DNA Database.
- If a candidate is short-listed then it is expected from him or her to be subject to an interview in person in addition to a practical assessment. Reference checks will be carried out for all candidates who are short-listed.
- Appointments will be made according to the accordance with The Public Service Act, 1994 (ACT No. 033 of 1994) for the post office environment.
- People who have retired from the Public Service by taking a pension package or early retirement, or due to medical reasons, or people who have had previous convictions are not eligible.
