Job Description

RCL Foods are seeking a motivated and highly motivated and fleet-oriented transport clerk within the bakery business division.

The ideal candidate will be expected to manage the Workshop administration and will be accountable for supporting the workshop team with administrative duties related to the administration of the fleet of vehicles.

The job will be located within Durban in Durban and will report on behalf of the Transport Manager.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12. Priority will be given to applicants with a valid Tertiary Certificate
  • 2-5 years of FMCG working experience
  • Computer literate
  • Be aware of inventory systems.
  • You must be able identify the parts of the vehicle

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Receiving the previous day’s diesel from a fuel-attendant, and capture, then note all issues on the details of the route. Also, do a viability report.
  • Get the inventory from suppliers and prepare invoices and GRN’s using Syspro.
  • Do job card costings and process, then capture and store in the vehicle file.
  • Do a weekly diesel report to Transport Manager
  • work closely in conjunction with Transport Manager to ensure the successful operation for the Department.
  • Review Transport plans to determine and report any dangers to the Manager
  • Create inventory control methods to reduce excesses and shortages.
  • Assist Manager in reducing Transport costs, while ensuring standard of excellence.
  • Print job cards for mechanics, examine job orders and determine priority and schedules for service to ensure the stock of parts and spares is readily accessible.
  • Control the execution of jobs and adjust schedules to ensure timely delivery.
  • Monitor and plan the movements of material to ensure that there is no interruption in operation.
  • Plan equipment, material and manpower requirements for job cards and service orders
  • Coordinate with Managers when solving problems with control and planning of transport.
  • Assist Manager in create job orders in a timely manner and to meet the customer’s requirements.
  • Communicate update on transportation to the Manager and customers.
