- The Rand Water Graduating Development Programme is a structured sector-specific initiative that aims at developing the future generation of professionals who will be in charge sustainability in water and environmental management. The program will put graduates in a vibrant environment that equips the graduates with skills relevant to industry and in line with Occupationally Directed Education, Training, and Development Practices (ODETDP).Graduates will receive education and mentoring in the following areas of focus:
*Freshwater Aquatic Sciences
*Water Technology
*Wastewater Technology
*Digital Technology and Innovation
Through hands-on instruction and fieldwork, lab activities, the use of digital tools as well as application-based research, this program is designed to enable participants to contribute meaningfully to the sector of water. In the end, graduates will be trained to lead important technological streams in the Rand Water Academy Technical School and will help the Academy achieve its long-term vision of technological leadership and ingenuity.
Minimum Requirements
The applicant must possess a valid Master’s degree (NQF Level 9) in the following areas :
- Engineering: MEng or MSc in Chemical, Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering
Eligibility Criteria:
- Unemployed and do not have any prior work experience that is related to the qualifications
- South African citizen with current South African ID
- For those who are under 35 in accordance with the National Skills Development Strategy III
- Available Code 08 driver’s license (advantageous)

- A certified duplicate of the South African ID
- A certified copy of their driver’s licence (if appropriate)
