Overview of the role and requirements

  • The candidate who is successful plays Key The role of the three areas:
    • The definition and implementation of and implementing the Cyber Detection Strategy (Alerting for the SOC to to spot any malicious activities)
    • Conducting Pro-Active Threat Hunting to discover any fraudulent or illegal activity that might have violated the security procedures at the bank.
  • Alternate First Responder Director for FRG
  • Security Consulting as necessary for FRG Business Units
  • Analysis of Threat Intelligence and Respond
  • To provide guidance and assistance to implement an effective Cyber Detection Strategy and performing proactive threat hunting to identify criminal cyber activity that could harm the bank
  • The Red Team Experience and Penetration Testing

What you will need:

  • Five years or more of experience in a similar position
  • Bachelor’s degree in a similar field like the management of information, security, or engineering in computers.
  • CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) OR CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
  • A strong command of cybersecurity threat detection Investigation and mitigation
  • Experience with the Response and Investigations
  • Experience and knowledge of the most important security and infrastructure technologies (e.g. firewall logs and network security tools malware detonation devices, proxies IDS/IPS)
  • Penetration Test Experience with Red Team
  • This is an extremely practical technical job and will require an excellent skill level and understanding of a wide range different security technologies, notably with respect to Microsoft as well as Cisco.
  • A keen awareness of cyber-attack strategies and the ways that protective surveillance systems could be employed to detect, mitigate, protection, and remediation.
  • Experience working with an SIEM

You will be responsible for:

Cyber Security Framework for Detection

  • All playbooks for business owners (Definition, Review and Coordination)
  • Enhance and automate security alerting (Use Playbooks and Cases)
  • Know the Threat Landscape
    • Use threat intelligence data along with your organization’s vulnerabilities to better understand potential threats to your organization that are new or threats that aren’t relevant.
    • Recognize NEW Threats that will require the use of cases to alert the SOC
  • Create and maintain alerts by translating demands for security into specification for each case
    • Create a document of the threat attack path using threat Modelling Techniques (Take charge in the identifying of risks and threats)
    • Host case workshops that involve the owners of the application and systems to determine attack vectors and develop monitoring rules that identify attacks within the environment.
    • Develop correlation rules or logic to recognize criminal activities
    • Determine which log sources are needed to create the Use Case
    • Create the use Case Separate signal from noise, and then distilling useful and actionable alerts out of the collection of information about events (EFFECTIVENESS)
    • Prove and produce the Use Case
  • Alert Optimisation
    • To decrease false alerts increase alert quality to ensure an effective intervention, and to reduce alert fatigue
    • Log Analytics: To discover patterns in user behavior and to identify possible issues pro-actively
