Sheq Graduate Description:
The Health and Safety (H & S) Graduate is in charge of managing H & S, legal compliance programs, and related issues across business units in the region. Responsible for ensuring that the organization is in compliance with all applicable H & S legislation, business policy and procedure, as well as minimum requirements, and the requirements for permits. Coordinates the implementation, maintenance as well as administration H & S management system across the regional business units
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- National Diploma in Safety Management important
- SAMTRAC is a benefit
- Graduate or at least one year of work experience within H & S
- Basic Knowledge of H & S
- Excellent ability to report

- A valid driver’s license and a vehicle are required
Roles and Responsibilities:
- The coordination among H & S service providers and the rules governing site coordination
- Check compliance with regional regulations and rules and make sure you are H & S reps are aware of rules and their the requirements for implementation,
- Make sure the H & S meetings are documented, held and recorded;
- Consolidate meeting results and KPI’s
- Inspect and enforce contractors’ conformity regionally.
- Conduct and monitor the investigation of accidents and incidents regionally,
- The management team should receive an overview of the incidents every month,
- Assist the management in the implementation for the H & S management system across the entire regional business unit,
- Make sure that H & S document and the data control systems are properly maintained by the people responsible;
- Promote H & S awareness on regional scale and in the creation of an H & S awareness program,
- Examine audit findings and suggest the corrective and preventative steps;
- Conduct and assist in risk assessments;
- If necessary, issue Non-conformances;
- Assist in the development for the development of SHE files.
- Assist in reporting incidents and oversee the administrative aspects surrounding the incidents.
- Facilitate and oversee the creation of an H & S training program,
- Implementation of an incident-reduction program in the region,
- Make sure that every Section 24 reportable incidents are identified and documented to the appropriate authority in the timeframes that are prescribed.
- Help in the development of a specific client H & S Management Plan
- Encourage and train employees to become more involved in their own H & S Management system.
- Make regular toolbox discussions on all regional sites;
- Make sure that H & S representative, first aid fire fighter, in the handling of dangerous materials training is current.
- System coordination throughout regional businesses units as well as their respective websites within the divisions.
- Assign and track licenses/authorizations issued on the system.
- Provide H & S systems support to various operating entities in relation to this system as well as its contents.
- Upload awareness materials to it on a regular basis.
- Create awareness materials when needed.
- Monitor and upload the performance of each entity operating on a continuous basis.
- Inform your Regional SHEQ officer.
- All matters that are of concern to the Regional SHEQ Officer right away.
- Maintaining the COID register for all operating entities in the division.
- All employees are trained on COID incidents and reporting.
- Monitor and upload the performances for progress and medical records final medical reports, and Resumption reports.
- Control all logs within the specified timeframes (Internal as well as COID).

- Review, validate and accept the validity and accuracy of all COID data that is logged into the system.
- Serve as the liaison with the third company COID services for processing and reporting incidents and the divisional business units.

- Make sure you are able to ensure that H & S meetings are documented, held and recorded and monitored.
- Inspect and enforce contractors’ compliance.
- Conduct an investigation into an accident when it is needed.

- Assist in the updating of help in updating the H & S Management system to keep up with changes in legislation as well as Industry Standards.

- Establish and maintain a connection with the key business leaders and stakeholders.
- Regularly communicate and provide feedback to the client, and address client concerns promptly.
- Collaborate together with Client H & S Management team to ensure alignment of the entire H & S activities
- Assist in aligning all H & S activities to Group fundamental values
