Key Performance Areas
- The preparation and the consolidation of VAS P&L in relation to the month’s end and forecast/budget
- Review and modify planning work documents obtained by the Planning and Management Reporting Centre of Excellence;
- Assist the Finance Manager with analysing the financial and management reports of the division in relation to its goals;
- Review the monthly management reports by SSC and CoE. CoE and SSC and provide comments and interpretations to support an annual Finance Manager review;
- Assistance with the year-end procedure and annual reports
- Review and modify OPEX forecasts for divisions to meet the business needs.
- Be sure that the tool used for planning matches actual costs and projections for every cost.
- Verify that the charge backs received by the division are correct and are accepted.
- Create journal templates and other documents to be submitted documents to be submitted Record to Report function within Shared Services (including but not restricted to year-end journals, and intercompany entries);
- Make sure that all inputs and management of any assets in the division are made available directly to the SSC.
- Perform various cost centre management functions.
- Create ad hoc or custom financial reports as required from the department.
- Conduct finance specific to the business unit tasks, or other ad-hoc financial tasks that require contact or physical interaction with divisional colleagues.
- Assist and assist the Finance and Systems Management CoE as well as the VAS division with the development of new projects or systems., requirement gathering testing, deployment and deployment.
- Serve as a super-user to the latest Non-Merchandise Procurement tool Coupa. Coupa to the department.
- The preparation of monthly reconciliations to the balance sheet
- Do the calculations needed as inputs for those month-end charges/allocations that relate to external parties, and insurance allocationsor accruals.
- Assist Finance Manager in allocating funds to trading divisions.
- Assign cost of mailing and report.
- Consolidation of VAS charges made via debit order
- Assistance with UAT activities and development in relation ROOT (new insurance system) Enhancements/changes.
- Make sure Claims bordereaux are prepared accurately by the claims team and that the claims funds are promptly settled by the insurance companies.
- Prepare quarterly NCR reports for the Insurance division
Qualification and Experience
- Diploma in Financial/ Management Accounting
- BCom degree preferred is preferred
- 3-5 years post qualification experience
