Position- Electrician
Location- Nkomazi, Malelane
Minimum Qualifications / Experience:
- Grade 12 certificate, or equivalent certificate
- Valid Trade Test (Electrician)
- Gases and Flameproof certificates
- Basic knowledge of welding and gas equipment
- Knowledge of MV and LV equipment
- Medically Fit (determined by OMP)
- 5 years’ experience as an Electrician in an underground coal mine
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of JAE battery scoop
- Must be medically fit to work underground
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults, and carry out repairs on JAE battery scoop
- Install new electrical components and systems on JAE battery scoop and other mining equipment
- Ensure the electrical systems of JAE battery scoop are safe and compliant with industry regulations
- Identify and resolve electrical problems that may arise during operation
- Conduct regular visual inspections and tests to ensure the electrical systems are functioning correctly
- Coach and mentor new operators, learners and/ or technicians on the electrical systems of JAE battery scoop
- Must be able exercise general control over electrical installation work, including instruction, guidance, and supervision
- Must be able identify and address any faults or defects in electrical installations promptly
- Must be able to conduct thorough testing and inspection of electrical installations to ensure they are safe and comply with regulations
- Must be able to cooperate with employers and other parties to ensure compliance with OHS
