Requirements
Communication Diploma or equivalent qualification. Experience in administrative support services is an added benefit.
Skills And Competencies
Knowledge of Public Service legislation policies, frameworks and procedures. Effective interpersonal and ability to manage. Excellent communications abilities (written as well as verbal). High level of computer literacy. Ability to work as groups and on your own. Skills for organisation and personal development. Good telephone etiquette. A basic understanding regarding Batho Pele Principles.
Duties
Switchboard rendering. Control all outgoing and inbound calls. Transfer calls to appropriate extensions. Give callers pertinent details. Send messages the relevant personnel. Keep a record of all calls that go out. Maintain a database of telephone numbers and an internal directory, as well as contacts for all stakeholders both external and internal and resources. Report telephone problems in the direction of supervisors. Maintain the switchboard system.
