Main Purpose Of Position

Efficient and efficient support for technologies operations, resources and equipment to maintain, install and maintain broadcast facilities/ systems equipment, servers, and networks, in order to provide optimal functionality, security, and accessible facilities/ equipment for SABC Technology

Key Accountabilities

  • Opex motivational submissions to maintain system sustainability and maintenance
  • Minor Capex motivations submissions to ensure that the new requirements are met
  • Transfers and tracking of assets. Updated Asset Register maintained as in line with Company Asset Management policy
  • Take part actively in Capex Project system implementations, commissioning, and workflows to ensure that they meet essential requirements and prevent on-air interruptions
  • Accepted % of goals met Accommodated % of facilities, equipment, and resources availability
  • A+ rating for SLA
  • Practices, procedures, and equipment in line with SABC operational and technical broadcasting standards
  • Adhere to service delivery standards
  • Submitting ad-hoc incidence fault reports, including conclusions and recommendations for repairs
  • Preventing technical issues on air in the lower than agreed SLA Amount of
  • Time to respond in accordance with urgent need for technical assistance conformity with the deadlines for delivery (in aid of availability percentage of the systems on-air)
  • Support for users with a high-quality technical service so that they can reduce the amount of time they are offline
  • Proper configuration and checking of the digital devices to guarantee less than the agreed percentage of technical errors on the air.
  • You must ensure that you have functional, smooth and secure digital systems
  • Follow-up on reported faults
  • Specifications and technical inputs to aid in the procurement of appropriate equipment and software
  • A proactive system that performs daily or monthly health checks against checklists & replacement of damaged components
  • Report and report on the risk of escalate
  • Make sure that you adhere to OHS standards and adherence to SABC Company Policies & Procedures
  • Discipline yourself in accordance to company policies and procedures
  • Conformity to OEM software licenses
  • SOP application that ensures sustainability of broadcast and continuity of business
  • Assist with the implementation of a functional Disaster Recovery Plan
  • 95percent of the assets have been verified each year
  • Assist in the the annual verification of assets (manual or scan)
  • Customers are served in a technically proficient and friendly manner
  • Ensure that services are in compliance in accordance with the customer’s request.
  • Give basic technical assistance and assistance to users and customers.
  • Assisting in the resolution of customers’ requests or complaints
  • Performance management policies and procedures
  • Management performance agreements and annual performance reviews
  • Managers are involved in formal reviews and documented in accordance with deadlines (Quarterly)

Minimum Requirements

  • 3-year National Diploma (S4/T3) in Electrical Engineering (Light Current, Communications, Computer Studies or Information Technology) (NQF6)
  • Advantage A+ and N+
